ROBBERY REPORTED AT BETHESDA ROW WEDNESDAY, 2-DAY THEFT SPREE IN GREEN ACRES NEIGHBORHOOD - BETHESDA CRIME UPDATE

A robbery was reported at Bethesda Row this past Wednesday, September 4, according to crime data. The incident was apparently reported from the 7200 block of Woodmont Avenue, where many popular businesses are located. There are currently no further details.

After a quiet summer in relation to 2012, the Green Acres neighborhood has been rocked by thieves and at least one burglar this week.

7 thefts and one burglary were reported on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Ventnor Road, the site of the burglary, experienced its third hit by criminals in 10 days. Bayard Boulevard was hit twice in one day.

Obviously, if you are in the Green Acres area, you'll want to lock your home and vehicles at all times. And report any suspicious persons, vehicle tag numbers and descriptions, or activities that seem unusual or suspicious to Montgomery County Police immediately.

A second robbery in Bethesda this week was reported from the 7400 block of Lakeview Drive, near Montgomery Mall.

Vehicle burglary. 4800 Park Avenue (Green Acres).

Vehicle burglary. 5300 block Baltimore Road (Green Acres vicinity).

Burglary. 11400 block Rockville Pike.

Robbery. 7200 block Woodmont Avenue.

Vehicle burglary. 6900 block Strathmore Street (near Woodmont Avenue/Bradley Boulevard area).
