FAIRMONT PLAZA ROCKED BY LOUD JACKHAMMER VEHICLE ON WISCONSIN AVENUE TONIGHT (PHOTOS)

A super jackhammer device tearing up the sidewalk on Wisconsin Avenue by Fairmont Plaza is rattling residents tonight. One resident tells me the jackhammering was so loud in the garage, they thought the garage was collapsing. The racket is deafening even a block away. It appears that residents were not given advance notice of the disruptive nighttime work by the utility contractor.

Wisconsin Avenue is down to one lane in each direction.

The noise was deafening. How was this legal?!

Usually - unless there is an emergency incident like a power line down, or water main break - they have to have a noise waiver from the county. I did not recall seeing one, and it's obvious they did not notify the residents of Fairmont Plaza that this would be happening.
