The Catholic Charities men's shelter at 4848 Cordell Avenue in Bethesda will be replaced by a restaurant, bar or retail business by next November. When the nonprofit moves operations to White Flint, 4848 Cordell Avenue Partnership will renovate and modify the shelter into a 1-story, 4200-square-foot restaurant/retail space.
Architect Steven J. Karr, who designed the soon-to-open Norfolk-Cordell II building nearby, is designing this building as well. As the images he has put forward below indicate, the revamped building will reflect distinctive stylistic elements found in the Norfolk-Cordell II design, as well as a third Karr project, a retail center at the corner of Rockville Pike and Rollins Avenue in Rockville.

What will happen to the men's shelter? Will it move?
Yes, it is moving to White Flint. I am not sure how that works for homeless men in Bethesda though...
