greenWICH CLOSES IN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

Sandwich and salad shop greenWICH lasted barely 3 months in the former Quiznos space at 4817 St. Elmo Avenue. The restaurant has closed, after only opening in July. I don't recall much promotion of the business on social media - in fact, I never could find a Facebook page for greenWICH, or even a website. That's really essential to success in 2014.

The space is now for lease by Greenhill.

Our "predatory leases" commenter should weigh in real soon. Maybe that needs a hashtag, too

why is the lease the reason for a tenant not running/promoting his business. He voluntarily vacated the premises

Wow! They didn't last very long at all. I went on a walk around the block where my office is last week and saw that there were maybe two people in there getting a sandwich. Odd how they suddenly decided to close up shop.

I went there shortly after they opened. I wouldn't have gone back - the wait was too long and the quality of the ingredients was poor.

Depsite the catchy name and menu this was little more than a standard generic deli. Advertising wouldn't have helped. There was just no reason to bypass a closer sandwich place and head to Greenwich.

I walked by there but never stopped in. Even though it's nearby to things, its placement on the block was such that I never though to go there for lunch. BGR as usual for my lunches.

Is Dyer plotting a militia backed coup? ... Someone should investigate.
