Capital Crescent Trail reopens to Bethesda Avenue (Photos)

The section of the Capital Crescent Trail between Ourisman Honda's garage and Bethesda Avenue reopened Wednesday. For the last few weeks, trail users had to detour via the Flats at Bethesda Avenue while workers redid this part of the trail.

The paving job looks great, providing a very smooth surface. Cyclists and joggers were already taking advantage of the new trail segment yesterday.

They've put the crosswalk up towards the intersection where it use to be before the construction. Hopefully they repave and remark the street soon.

If only Bethesda Avenue were even half that well-paved. Not a priority I guess.

7:28: You are correct that there was no ramp at the temporary crosswalk on Bethesda Ave. As 7:54 noted, the crossing is back to the original location at this point.

Can the public still use the detour way? It's much nicer!

7:08: I assume that remains a public space. Whether there is any rule regarding riding bikes through there, I'm not sure, however.

Assumptions aside, how do we know for certain if any or these pocket parks are usable by all?
