First look: Tropical Smoothie Café in Bethesda (Photos)

Tropical Smoothie Café looks close to opening at 4731-A Elm Street in downtown Bethesda. This would probably be a bad time to open, anyway, with Winter Storm Jonas bearing down on the area.

The former Panas space has been made over in decor more appropriate for a tropical-themed restaurant. There's even an artwork at the rear of the dining room that looks like you could walk out on a dock.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe will be bringing "brain-boosting add-ins" for smoothies, and a much-needed new breakfast option for downtown residents, to town.

@ 7:14 AM - Sucks that "the world's smartest population didn't elect Dyer, doesn't it?

I guess they prefer calm and rational, over histrionic and crazy.

Reamer is low energy! He could use one of these energy smoothies.

How is this different from Smoothie King 1 block over?

11:32: I guess we'll find out when it opens. They do seem to emphasize their food offerings as much as the beverages.
