Bradley Boulevard closed due to fire in Bethesda

Fire department activity has temporarily closed Bradley Boulevard in the vicinity of Huntington Parkway. Firefighters on the scene have reported via radio that smoke was emanating from the second floor of a home in the 6100 block of Bradley Boulevard in Bethesda when they arrived.

Inside, they found several objects on fire, including a mattress, according to scanner reports. Pepco and Washington Gas are being contacted.

Firefighters are continuing to check how far the blaze has extended within the home.

"Bradley Boulevard closed due to fire in Bethesda", this title is misleading, making the reading think the entire road was closed. More understandable would have been the wording "Fire closes portion of Bradley Boulevard". Think first chicken little.
